Foster-Powell Chosen for Sustainability Study

According to Sustainable Business Oregon, Foster-Powell will be one of three city neighborhoods to be tested for district-scale sustainability.  Along with the others—Northeast Lloyd and South of Market—a team from Portland State University “will pilot efforts around waste reduction, energy efficiency, transportation, building design, and urban livability.”

The PSU team will be joining efforts with the Foster Green EcoDistrict to help promote sustainable development in the neighborhood, which will also span part of Lents, too.

Coming on the heels of PDC’s Five Year Action Plan for Lents (which will touch our stretch of Foster), as well as the soon to be adopted (cross fingers) Foster Streetscape Plan, things are definitely looking up in the neighborhood.
