Seen in FoPo

Bar Maven MuralBar Maven makes its presence known.

It’s a good look for the building; it’s a good look for Foster.

Much love to Bar Maven Pdx for making this little corner of the neighborhood all that more appealing.

So who’s next to adorn their walls with art? We’re long overdue for a FoPo or SE Foster piece somewhere, right?

appealing? it looks like a bad gang neighborhood now… I don’t want to frequent a place with gang graffiti all over it…

what’s it say? I never learned to read gang graffiti…

    • Gray Wolf says:

Why don’t you move back to Lake Oswego then…?? I heard that thinly veiled racism is still doing quite well there….

      • Spiffy says:

is that type of graffiti style writing usually from a certain race? I thought it was gang style not race style (whatever that is)… but you mention LO so I’m thinking you assumed that gangs mean black people since that’s usually the LO joke around here…

    • Ah, Spiffy…caught up in your own misconceptions. You don’t have to like the art form, but stereotyping does it an injustice.

      • Spiffy says:

then what kind of art style is it? the brown and green ones look like typical gang graffiti, although the red one kinda looks like it could be an 80’s video game marquee…

I think it looks awesome! (nothing like a gang tag.. wth is this guy saying?)

  3. Alex says:

It’s better than another strip club. Looking at you “Seductions”.

I’m not a big fan of graffiti style, but I like the liveliness this brings. Also, it seems this wall will keep filling in with more art, and I think that could look really nice.

The good part is, they won’t have to repaint when it gets tagged by vandals. Er, street artists.

  5. Matt says:

Not a fan of the street art graffiti style either, but for being in that style it is pretty decent. Art is art, whether the observer enjoys it or not. And I am just glad to see art even if it is not my favorite “style”.
