Your Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association meets tonight, as usual, the second Monday of the month. Don’t forget that these meetings now take place at Bar Carlo, with the regular 6:30 start time. Also, as a courtesy to Bar Carlo, please feel encouraged to buy something, even if just a soda. It’s not necessary, but it would go a long way in supporting them and their efforts to provide space for these meetings.
Tonight’s meeting will offer updates on the development of Foster Road, the annual Feast for Southeast event at Mt. Scott Community Center, and a discussion led by Ryan Givens about proposed improvements/changes to Laurelwood Park.
On Wednesday, in what may be the more important of the two meetings this week, the Foster-Lents Integration Partnership (FLIP), along with Foster Green and the Lents Neighborhood Association, will host the second Foster Corridor Investment Strategy open house. While this pertains greatly to the Foster Streetscape Plan, it also delves into a larger-picture-approach to improving our busy thoroughfare. The first open house took place at Mt. Scott Learning Center, and included a walking tour of the neighborhood. Tonight’s meeting will be a continuation of presenting investment opportunities along the Foster Corridor, as well as to solicit (for what it’s worth) community feedback. Wednesday’s open house is at the Lents Masonic Lodge 5811 SE 92nd Avenue), and starts at 5:45 p.m.
