If you were expecting a repeat of last weekend, my apologies. While there’s enough to keep you busy, last weekend was one for the ages and probably won’t be matched until summer returns. In the meantime, there are still some goings-on worth mentioning. Please feel free to share your plans and/or events, too.
– First, happy third birthday to Somaphile. The holistic wellness center and movement studio for women has been a blessing for those who have taken advantage of Danielle’s services. And — ladies — if you haven’t, I’d encourage you to at least check it out; this is a real asset to the neighborhood and commercial corridor. There’s even a regular book club centered on woman’s health and well-being.
– Speedboat Coffee is getting in on the local arts scene, as they transform their main seating area into an art showing this Saturday. And there’s even a name for the showcase: VITA NOVA. The work of local artists, Wendy Good and Darin Marker, will be on display through the beginning of November. Make sure to stop in and check it out.
– Alt/Rock/Jazz your thing? The StacKcatS will be performing at the Gemini Lounge Saturday night.
– If you’re interested in the development of the Foster corridor, especially as it relates to the streetscape plan and future investment in the area, please, please, please go to the Foster-Lents Integration Partnership (FLIP) meeting and open house this coming Wednesday, October 10. Share your ideas, make your voices heard, and help shape the future of Foster Road. Your presence will show the city just how much we care about our neighborhood.
Alright, good people, enjoy your weekend. Baseball’s postseason begins this weekend — Giants all the way!
