As we gear up for the Garden Tour this year, we want to take a moment to introduce some of the wonderful Hosts you will be meeting along the way…
Tell us a bit about yourself and your lovely garden:
We have lived in the Foster Powell neighborhood for 7 years. We started our garden from a patch of weedy grass and a couple of old hydrangeas. We began the transformation by creating a dry river bed . Each year we gradually added more trees and plants to fill in the holes. I’d say we are about 3/4 of the way finished, if there is such a thing.
What unique aspect about your garden or its history would you like to share?
I have used culvert scraps for planters, giving the garden a bit of an industrial edge.
What are your gardening inspirations?
I like getting starts or divided pants from friends and nurturing volunteer trees.
What brought you to the Foster Powell Community?
When not gardening, what is your favorite way to enjoy the neighborhood?
Getting together with our neighbors.
