We don’t often get into politics on this blog, but with Mayor Sam Adams leaving office, and two council seats up for grabs next term, this election season poses a good amount of significance.
With that being said, we don’t endorse anybody (at least not here), nor will we report on anything that doesn’t impact the neighborhood in some way. However, when the neighborhoods along Foster Road do enter the political arena, we’d like to let you know.
Thus….if you are so inclined, Charlie Hales will be making his way to outer SE Portland this Wednesday, and you’re invited to see him talk at Arleta Library Bakery Cafe. For what it’s worth, the flier for this event clearly states the restaurant’s position of support for Hales (not necessarily our view). It shouldn’t influence your opinion, though; nor should it prevent you from going and asking him how he would help our Foster-area community if he became mayor.
If you’re interested, Hales will be present from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, Wednesday, April 4th. If you do plan on going, you’ll have to RSVP, and can do so by emailing Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org
