Photographer, Tamra Tiemeyer has made a business of spitfire and stunning  images. From her Kansas roots to the garden she tends here in Portland, Tiemeyer’s creations are an integral peak into the life and world that surrounds us. The FOPO is lucky to have her.

Who are you?

I’d describe myself as a kaleidoscope of curiosity and creativity, that when in the company of kindness and beauty, radiates a world of colorful impressions and interpretations.

What do you do?

When not working for a living, I treasure the things I love: my boyfriend, cats, family, friends, neighbors, garden, food carts, coffee, hikes, photography…

What is your inspiration?

I am very emotionally moved by the beauty and mystery of life. Filling the camera’s frame takes me to a quiet focused reality where I can tune into these feelings.  The freedom of photographic editing provides the paintbrush to share my interpretation of how I see and react to my surroundings.

How do you do what you do when you do what you do?

Photography is an extreme mix of right and left brain activity.  I strive to master the technical elements so I can more effectively loose myself to the zone when the time is right.

Your magic moment?

My ego dissolves, time stops, my mind is quiet, and I’m full of wonder.

Walk us through your day of awesomeness

Hot strong coffee, playful cats, nowhere to be. My day to explore followed by happy hour with friends.

In five years, where would you like to be?

Here in Portland, living my dream.

Apart from creating things, what do you do?

Enjoy all my loves: music, good food and friends, gardening, reading, travel, walks, camping and exploring…

What advice would you give to those of the like-mind?

Listen to your inner child and voice.  Find an outlet for expression,  community, and nurturing.
