Meet Your Neighbors: Dave Pell

Dave Pell

Who are you?
Small town North Carolina native who loves most outdoor sports (not involving an engine), books, film, and socializing in small groups. I’m not so big on crowds.

What do you do?
I work as a gardener and arborist at the zoo. Volunteering with Friends of Trees and Depave takes up a good bit of my spare time, but I enjoy it.

What is your inspiration? (Why do you do what you do?)
Being outdoors and trying to have a positive impact on where I am at the time.

What brought you and/or your business to the Foster-Powell Community?
Svetlana and I moved to Portland in the hopes of improving my health. Asthma specifically. We bought our house in Foster-Powell after breaking the record of most homes seen with our realtor.

What is your favorite way to enjoy Foster?
Walking Frank, our hound dog, all over the place.

3 Ways to unite the Fine Folks of Foster
The summer concert in Kern Park, and the Foster-Powell garden tour are both great ways to meet your neighbors. Just getting out of the house and walking around works too.

How do you envision the future of Foster?
Hopefully fewer lawns and more native and edibles trees, shrubs, perennials. A grocery store, live music venue, and/or theater in the neighborhood would be sweet.

Some top fives to appease the list lovers……
