Who are you?

I’m Kyle, who are you?

What do you do?

I do my absolute best to make people happy. Life can get pretty hectic and I think we all need a comfortable place where we can get some great food, have a cocktail, hang out with a few friends, meet the neighbors, maybe enjoy a little entertainment or play a game. You know, a place to just unwind and be our happy selves. I try to provide that place.

What is your inspiration? (Why do you do what you do?)

My inspiration is the people I serve. I enjoy making them smile and feel welcome. I like the faces they make when they are enjoying something delicious. I really like loud, boisterous laughter, the uncontrollable kind that makes every one in the room smile and nod. I want everybody to have fun and enjoy this short life of ours.

What brought you and/or your business to the Foster-Powell Community?

Foster-Powell is a great area with a lot going for it. The people here are genuine and awesome. They are proud of their neighborhood and are welcoming to new people and businesses moving in. It’s exactly the kind of neighborhood I look for when opening eateries – good people looking for a good place to go.

What is your favorite way to enjoy Foster?

I enjoy going out. Slingshot for beers and foosball, Foster Burger has great burgers, coffee from Guapo or Mama’s, good Hawaiian food from Da Hui. I like to hang out with the people, they’re always fun and welcoming. It’s one of the only neighborhoods in Portland that doesn’t feel clickish or too hip to like stuff. It’s comfortable and genuine and a little rough around the edges, just like me.

3 Ways to unite the Fine Folks of Foster
1. Sandwiches – Every culture in the world has some form of sandwich, it is the great unifier.

2. Great beverages – we all need them.

3. Rockem’ Sockem’ Robots

How do you envision the future of Foster?
I’d like to see Foster become a hotspot for eateries and fun places to hang out. It’s headed that direction now and I’d like to see it keep going. I’d really like to see more people walking up and down Foster, checking out all the locally owned shops and restaurants, but in order for that to happen, we need more locally owned shops and restaurants.
