Who are you?

FOPO residents, going on 8 years.

What do you do?

Professionally, I run a small environmental consulting firm, and Eric is the snowboard department manager & a kayak guide for Next Adventure (great local gear store; corner of SE Stark and Grand). More importantly, we hike, bike, kayak, backpack, slide on snow, garden, and play ball with our dog, Lola, as much as possible.

What is your inspiration? (Why do you do what you do?)

All things outside. A clean planet. Backyard BBQ’s with good friends.

What brought you and/or your business to the Foster-Powell Community?

Real estate we could afford!

What is your favorite way to enjoy Foster?

1. Enjoying the BEST veggie burger at Slingshot after a long hike in the Gorge.

2. Coffee and pastries at Sweetness Bakery before heading to Mt. Hood.

3. Pizza at O’Malley’s!

4. Taking long walks through the hood with Lola.

3 Ways to unite the Fine Folks of Foster

1. Say “hi” to your neighbors when you see them around, if even you don’t know them.

2. Find ways to get involved in FOPO community events – i.e., the annual FOPO Garden Tour!

3. Identify common goals – walkable / bikeable areas, community gardens, annual events – that we can plan together.

How do you envision the future of Foster?

As an eclectic and diverse neighborhood, affordable and attractive to a wide range of people from different backgrounds, with a bunch of really good restaurants, walkable / bikeable areas, and maybe even a community garden. Oh, and they really should reduce the speed limit on Foster.
