Hi everyone. I just found out that we have a neighborhood gym. Its called Foster Fitness. http://www.fosterfitnesspdx.com Has anyone gone there? How is it? Not many reviews online so i was hoping that other peeps in the neighborhood might have knowledge of it. Thanks for all feedback.
I know of it only because it’s across the way from Slingshot. It’s nice to have a local gym, but I don’t know what it’s like inside.
I’ve never been in either. My wife and I use the Mt. Scott Community Center. http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/finder/index.cfm?action=ViewPark&PropertyID=1120

We have fallen in love with living here and are deeply committed to helping in whatever way we can If anyone has suggestions, feel free to email back or post a reply: hriley24@gmail.com.

Howdy all,
Just wondering if anyone can give some good advice on the best place to watch the Timbers play in the area. Went to O’Malley’s for one game and there was no one there. I’ve been heading further to get an atmosphere but would really like to walk. Just checking in case I’m missing a decent bar that shows the games.
Cheers.
We usually end up somewhere out of the area, or just watch at home. We would be happy to help add to a crowd here, though! It would be great to have a closer spot for away games!
O’Malley’s has great potential but when I was there they didn’t seem very interested in making a deal out of the game…but that was the beginning of the season so maybe it’s changed. If more folks showed up to support the team and watch it though it could be a great spot. Luckily I have tickets for tonight’s friendly
Perhaps it’s something fellow Timber fans in the area can organize. Torta-landia’s an option, too.
Good call. I am down for wherever for away games, and know a couple others who would join us. Luckily, I already have tickets for the season!
I was wondering how many people in the neighborhood would be interested in having a pet/dog food store?
We go to Pets on Broadway for flea medication, cat toys, and anything else we need for them. (We still get out cat food at Target though, mostly because of price.) I shop at this store because they are local, have a friendly staff, and will always have everything I need for my cats. I would shop at a store in our neighborhood if there was one like that one.

I received this e-mail from TriMet, and thought it was worth sharing. I don’t know exactly where these bus shelters are being vandalized, but it can’t hurt to spread the word. Maybe someone can help stop this senseless destruction.
From TriMet: Last night [6/17/12] another four of our shelters were vandalized in Southeast Portland. We’ve had at least 70 bus shelters vandalized since February. Repairing the damage has already cost more than $36,000.
We’re offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever vandalized the shelters. If you have any information, please contact 503-238-RIDE.
According to KATU.com, “The latest ones that were damaged were at Southeast 58th and Foster, Southeast 26th and Powell, Southeast 24th and Powell and Southeast 34th and Powell.”
Thanks for sharing, Matt. Not too far from home…

Hi neighbors,
I built a little library box and mounted it on the fence outside my yard at 77th and Raymond. It’s a bit hidden under a badly in need of pruning tree, but at least is shaded. Come check it out, take a book, or leave a book you would like to pass on.
I am a dog walker/pet sitter in the neighborhood!! Check out my site if interested: http://tawnisdogspdx.wordpress.com/
