When Jason Lee Grant was killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Foster Road in January, sadness and outrage flowed through the community. Sadness over the loss of life, and the unimaginable pain Grant’s family and friends had to endure. Outrage over the city’s delay in taking the steps necessary to help prevent such tragedy.
Nine months later, the driver in the fatal accident will learn his fate this Friday when a judge delivers his sentencing, as reported in the Oregonian. The driver has already plead guilty in the case, and, sadly, has already seen his life changed forever. Now, one can only hope that future improvements to Foster Road will help prevent similar tragedies.
