Here’s your challenge, FoPo, and to the other neighborhoods along Foster Road. Pick a public space in the neighborhood that’s currently, well, underutilized or, shall we say, less than appealing and design a more comfortable use for it. For example, art on an ugly wall; benches in an underused open space; or garden in a public place (a la the “Alley Oop” project in Mt. Scott-Arleta). Then, submit your designs to GOOD, an international “collaboration of individuals, businesses, and nonprofits pushing the world forward,” as stated on their website. Winning submissions will be featured on their website, which ultimately could be used to launch a campaign to fund the idea.

Godspeed….
