Hey, in case you missed it, the Willie Week recently put out their list of 2010 Cheap Eats, and they included Foster-Powell! Relative newcomers Foster Burger made the list, as did the Arleta Library Cafe, An Xuyen, Bihn Mihn Sandwiches, Pho Hung, and Powell Seafood Restaurant. What do you think? Did the WW miss any cafes?
Here’s a link to the Foster-Powell Cheap Eats story.

Failure to include El Pato Feliz is perplexing.Looking forward to checking out My Brother’s Crawfish.
A little disappointing that Bar Carlo didn’t also get a mention. Their prices are similar to Foster Burger but have a wider selection, even for evenings.
Agreed. Weird omission. Love that place. And, what about Guapo or Slingshot Lounge?!Admittedly, Guapo is a cafe, not a restaurant, but still. And the new cook at the Slingshot is great.–JT
Billy & I love the Bar Carlo b/c there’s rarely a wait, and there’s enough room for the kiddies to run around in the spare room, so there’s not too much noise in the main dining room. Plus those bay windows are just divine on a sunny Sunday. And the Guapo… love it, but I actually get more done at the l’il coffee shop around the corner, Coffee Lovers. And if the work session goes late, they also serve beer.
I just wanted to brag a bit by pointing out that FosterPowellPDX.com has its own review of the Arleta Library Cafe, at http://fosterpowellpdx.com/locations/united-states/oregon/mu.Check it out and add your comments/thoughts/gripes. And BTW, anyone can write a review for this site–if it’s good, I’ll feature it! And if you start writing as many/more stories than me, we’ll talk about profit sharing (when the profits start rolling in, that is.)
