I’m blogging directly from the Foster-Powell neighborhood association meeting, where we’ve just approved a budget for the Foster-Powell National Night Out Block Party, which will be on the evening of August 4th at Kern Park. All FoPo neighbors are invited to enjoy live music, accupuncture, and more. The party committee has a few requests for volunteers:
- Canvassing the neighborhood. It only takes 15 minutes to pass out a hundred. Can you canvass your street while you walk the pooch? We need to get the word out about the party! If you want to help, email FoPo chair Erica Bjerning.
- Children’s Activities. Looks like we’re short a clown. The kids will enjoy the live music, but it would be great to have a few more activities to keep them busy and happy. Can you paint faces or juggle? Email Erica.
So, help if you can, and come on down to Kern park on August 4th!

My wife and I have volunteered to host a beaded necklace/bracelet craft table. Another idea I thought of – if anyone else is looking for an idea – is a bubble making station. You could have all kinds of home-made bubble makers and provide tubs of bubble solution. Cheap and easy!Matt
